ORIENTATION

 

  • Kasar Devi is located in Uttarakhand’s Kumaun region,10 km/30 min from Almora District.

  • KasarDevi is around 16 km/35 min from Binsar,57 km/100 min from Kausani,70 km/150 min from Nainital and 370 km from Delhi/NCR

CONNECTIVITY

  • Pantnagar is the nearest airport, Air India operates flights from Delhi 3 to 4 days a week.

  • The nearest railway station is Kathgodam, Uttarakhand, from KasarDevi its around 90 Km. Haldwani & Kathgodam are adjacent to each other, Haldwani is like the entrance door to Kumaun and Haldwani/Kathgodam are well connected by trains from Delhi (Shatabdi runs daily), Lucknow, Dehradun, Jaipur, Howrah (Kolkata).

  • Buses,taxis,shared taxis from Haldwani to Almora are very frequent.  From haldwani one can hire a taxi to Kasar Devi; or bus/shared taxi to Almora and take another taxi to Kasar Devi.

  • Mrig Vihar Zoo / Deer Park: park preserves a number of deer, Himalayan bears and wild leopards.

  • Katarmal Sun temple:It  is a unique cluster of temples (around 44) which are the tallest temples in the Kumaun. It is 10 kms from Kasar Devi & is located at a height of 2116 meters above sea level. It was built somewhere between the 9th – 13th Century by King Katarmalla the then ruler of Kumaun.
